Venice History...

Venice-Nokomis Bank Building at the corner of West Venice Avenue and Nassau.  At left, upon completion February 23, 1927, at right in the 1940's.

The bank was purchased by Amalgamated Trust Union in 1964 and was again sold in 1973 to First Florida Bank of Tampa.  After their purchase, a new building was erected on the empty lot next door, shown at left in 1981.  First Florida was bought out by Barnett Bank and then NationsBank bought them out in 1997.  Bank of America then bought NationsBank in 1999.
